With bidding starting at £70,000 a life-size bronze statue of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II riding Burmese is to be auctioned. Who knows what the hammer price will be?

The bronze, by renowned equine artist Caroline Wallace is of Her Majesty at the Trooping of the Colour parade in 1984. Offered for sale is the second casting of only two, the mould having been destroyed, the first being commissioned by the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst.

Burmese was given to Her Majesty by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in 1969 and carried her on 18 consecutive Trooping of the Colour parades. The partnership became a defining symbol of grace, loyalty, and trust. Wallace captures that relationship with extraordinary anatomical precision and emotional clarity.

This work represents a unique convergence of royal history, artistic mastery, and British heritage. We look forward to discovering its new home in 2026.
